KALLAR KAHAR: (Staff Reporter) – Visitors traveling through Kallar Kahar have expressed concern over the alleged overpricing of food and beverages at roadside rest areas, claiming that essential items are being sold at rates well above normal market prices.
According to complaints from travelers, a bottle of drinking water, which typically retails for around Rs70, is reportedly being sold for as much as Rs150 at some rest stops. Consumers say the higher prices are placing an unnecessary financial burden on people using the facilities.
The Medal of Peace and the Yoke of Inflation
The allegations have prompted calls for the Government of Punjab and the relevant regulatory authorities to investigate the reported pricing practices and take action if any violations of consumer protection or pricing regulations are found.
As of now, the claims have not been independently verified, and the concerned authorities have not issued an official response regarding the matter.
