GB minister meets FBR chief over Sost trade

GILGIT: (News Desk) – Caretaker Information and IT Minister for Gilgit-Baltistan, Ghulam Abbas, met Chairman Federal Board of Revenue Rashid Langrial in Islamabad to discuss challenges faced by traders operating at the Sost border.

During the meeting, the minister highlighted key concerns related to trade activities at the Sost border, including taxation issues and the lack of adequate facilities. He stressed the importance of improving ease of doing business for traders and importers from the region.

Rashid Langrial assured that the FBR would provide maximum facilitation to local traders. He noted that under a previous initiative, traders from Gilgit-Baltistan had benefited from tax exemptions amounting to around Rs4 billion.

The FBR chairman also indicated that efforts are underway to further enhance and expand such programs, enabling new businesses to enter the market and grow more effectively.
