IHC stops CDA from demolishing homes in Saidpur area

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – The Islamabad High Court has directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to halt eviction drives and stop the demolition of houses belonging to residents in Saidpur.

According to the written order issued by Justice Inam Amin Minhas, the CDA has been instructed not to demolish or seal any properties of the petitioners until the next hearing.

The petitioners’ lawyer argued that similar protective orders already exist in Writ Petition No. 1488/26, and requested the court to extend relief in light of those earlier directives.

The court has issued notices to all concerned parties, asking them to submit written responses before the next hearing.

It further ordered that the current case be consolidated with the previously pending petition and scheduled for joint hearing in the next proceedings.
