NAB Chairman Meets Speaker, Highlights Reforms And Major Recoveries
ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq met with Chairman of the National Accountability Bureau, Nazir Ahmed, to discuss the institution’s performance, ongoing reforms, and efforts to combat corruption.
During the meeting, the NAB Chairman presented the bureau’s Annual Report 2025 and provided a detailed briefing on recent institutional reforms aimed at improving transparency and efficiency.
Speaker Ayaz Sadiq praised NAB’s recovery performance, noting that the bureau has recovered Rs6.213 trillion overall, with Rs11.524 trillion recovered in the past three years alone—an achievement he described as significant. He also appreciated the bureau’s 72 percent prosecution success rate, calling its transformation into a more people- and business-friendly institution a positive development.

The Speaker highlighted NAB’s recovery of approximately 2.98 million acres of government and forest land as a landmark accomplishment. He further acknowledged the relief provided to over 115,000 victims of fraudulent investment schemes, with compensation totaling Rs180 billion. Efforts to curb money laundering were also commended.
On the occasion, Chairman Nazir Ahmed outlined key reforms, including the establishment of facilitation centers for parliamentarians, civil servants, the business community, and overseas Pakistanis. He also revealed that NAB has introduced artificial intelligence-based investigations and implemented a paperless system through the NAB e-Office (NEO) platform in 2025.
The NAB Chairman appreciated the role of Parliament and its members in supporting anti-corruption initiatives, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in ensuring accountability and transparency.
