Pakistan Welcomes Kuwait’s Defence Cooperation Agreement Ratification

Islamabad: (Staff Reporter) – Pakistan has welcomed Kuwait’s ratification of the Pakistan–Kuwait Defence Cooperation Agreement signed in 2023, describing the move as a significant milestone in the long-standing defence partnership between the two countries.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tahir Andrabi, said the development reflects the shared commitment of Pakistan and Kuwait to further enhance bilateral defence cooperation and strengthen their security partnership.

According to the Foreign Office, the agreement provides a comprehensive framework for expanding defence collaboration between the two nations. It includes areas such as military training and education, joint exercises, exchange of expertise and cooperation in other mutually agreed fields.

The Foreign Office stated that the agreement will help strengthen institutional relations between the armed forces of Pakistan and Kuwait while further consolidating decades-old defence ties between the two countries.

Pakistan and Kuwait will continue working together to implement the agreement according to its provisions, with the aim of expanding defence cooperation based on mutual trust, shared interests and close institutional coordination.

The Foreign Office said enhanced cooperation between the two countries will also contribute to regional peace, security and stability.
