Islamabad: (Web Desk) – Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has said that a final decision on Pakistan’s participation in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 will be taken by Friday or Monday, after consultations at the highest level.
In a post on social media platform X, Mohsin Naqvi said he held a “useful meeting” with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, during which he briefed the premier on issues related to the ICC. He added that all available options, including possible protest measures, have been placed before the prime minister.

According to Naqvi, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed that the matter be resolved after carefully considering all options and national interests.

Earlier, an important meeting took place between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi to discuss Pakistan’s participation in the T20 World Cup. Sources said various options regarding the World Cup were reviewed, and the final decision will be made in line with the prime minister’s guidance.
Sources further revealed that Mohsin Naqvi presented Pakistan’s stance and all possible options before the prime minister. The position of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and its implications were also discussed in detail during the meeting.
The PCB chairman is expected to continue consultations with other stakeholders. The prime minister was also briefed on the overall situation by the interior minister, while the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be taken into confidence regarding the national cricket team’s participation in the World Cup.
