Punjab Announces Mandatory Security Rules for Educational Institutions
CM directed officials to ensure that all major public spaces remain under digital surveillance.
ISLAMABAD: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has instructed authorities to install digital surveillance cameras outside every school and educational institution across the province as part of a strengthened security plan.
She directed police teams to carry out mock security drills in coordination with the School Education Department. The chief minister also made CCTV coverage, guard deployment, and entry checks mandatory for all educational facilities.

According to the official statement, the provincial government will also register the drivers and staff operating buses that travel between Punjab and other provinces.
Maryam Nawaz ordered Punjab Police and other law enforcement agencies to coordinate with the Motorway Police on broader security measures. She further instructed officials to enhance digital monitoring in public parks.
The Safe Cities Authority has been told to examine the functionality of surveillance cameras installed across Punjab and ensure complete CCTV coverage in major cities, including Lahore and Rawalpindi. She also directed authorities to integrate cameras installed in private homes and commercial areas with the Safe Cities system to help identify criminal activity more quickly.
