Iran proposes plan to end war, ease tensions

Iran presents new proposals aiming to end war and revive talks

TEHRAN: (Web Desk) – Iran has put forward fresh proposals aimed at ending the ongoing conflict and reopening diplomatic negotiations, according to a senior official speaking to Reuters.

The official described the proposals as a meaningful step toward a potential agreement, suggesting that the first phase would focus on ending hostilities. In return, Iran has sought assurances that Israel and the United States would refrain from future attacks.

As part of the proposal, Iran indicated it would be willing to reopen the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, while also calling for the lifting of US sanctions and any potential blockade.

The plan further includes advancing negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program, with Tehran emphasizing that any agreement must recognize its right to enrich uranium for peaceful purposes.

Separately, a report by The Wall Street Journal suggested that Iran may be showing flexibility in its stance to restart talks with the United States, signaling a possible easing of earlier conditions.

However, despite indications of renewed diplomatic engagement, both sides continue to face major disagreements on key issues. Analysts believe that while talks could resume, reaching a comprehensive agreement may be a complex and prolonged process.
