Singer Quratul Ain Baloch injured in bear attack at Deosai
Singer Quratul Ain Baloch was injured in a bear attack on Thursday near Bara Pani in Deosai National Park, according to the Gilgit-Baltistan government.
Officials confirmed that she was rescued in an injured condition and shifted to Skardu Hospital, where she is receiving medical assistance.
GB government spokesperson Faizullah Faraq said the incident occurred while Baloch was in the Deosai region, a high-altitude national park known for its wildlife and natural beauty.
Authorities acted swiftly, rescuing the singer and moving her to Skardu Hospital for immediate treatment. Officials confirmed that the singer was discharged from hospital after her condition improved.
Baloch sustained injuries on both arms from the bear’s teeth and claws. According to the hospital administration, no fractures were reported in the singer’s X-ray.
Following the incident, the Gilgit-Baltistan government has banned camping in Deosai National Park.
“No traveler or tourist will be able to camp at night in the future,” spokesperson Faizullah Faraq announced, stressing the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety of both locals and visitors.
