Pakistan Strike Force Training Camp Kicks Off at NCA Lahore

LAHORE – The much-awaited Pakistan Strike Force training camp commenced on Tuesday at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore, bringing together domestic and international players for a specialized program aimed at enhancing their hard-hitting and modern-day batting skills.

The camp, running from January 14 to 30 at the NCA, will then move to the Multan Cricket Stadium for its second leg, scheduled from February 1 to 28. This comprehensive training initiative is part of Pakistan Cricket Board’s ongoing efforts to sharpen the country’s batting talent and prepare players for the intense challenges of contemporary cricket.

The Strike Force program is set to continue throughout the year, with elite and emerging players regularly invited to join the camps. The aim is to develop a pool of strong, aggressive batsmen who can excel under pressure, a crucial skill for international cricket.

Leading the camp is former international cricketer Abdul Razzaq, renowned for his exceptional ball-striking ability during his 17-year career. Razzaq, who hit 168 sixes in his career, will be supported by former Test cricketer Humayun Farhat and ex-first-class player Kamran Sajid. Together, they will mentor 25 players in mastering key areas such as building core strength, strategizing aggression, and managing restraint during high-pressure scenarios.

The camp is designed to prepare players not only for upcoming domestic challenges but also for Pakistan’s packed international schedule. Following the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Pakistan will participate in two ICC T20I World Cups, an ICC Cricket World Cup, and several bilateral white-ball series until 2028. As such, the training camp plays a pivotal role in strengthening the national batting lineup and expanding the pool of quality players for future teams.

Among the 25 players selected for this camp, seven have already represented Pakistan at the international level: Haider Ali, Jahandad Khan, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Mubasir Khan, Muhammad Irfan Khan, and Usman Khan.
