Government employees to receive early salary release

LAHORE: (Web Desk) – Government employees across Punjab are set to receive their salaries earlier than usual as authorities have instructed an early disbursement ahead of the upcoming extended holiday period. The decision has been taken to facilitate staff financial planning before consecutive public holidays.

According to official directives issued by the Punjab Finance Department, salaries will now be released on April 30 instead of the standard payment schedule. This adjustment has been made in view of Labour Day, which will be observed nationwide on May 1 as a public holiday.

Further adding to the extended break, the following days fall on the weekend, resulting in consecutive days off for government employees. The early salary release aims to ensure convenience and avoid any financial inconvenience during the holiday span. The federal government has already issued its official holiday calendar for 2026, confirming nationwide observance of public and optional holidays.
