OGDC speeds up Zin gas field production efforts

Oil and Gas Development Company Limited accelerates Zin gas field development through partnerships and innovation

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) –  Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDC), Pakistan’s leading exploration and production firm, is intensifying efforts to bring stranded and low BTU gas reserves into production, with a special focus on the Zin Gas Field.

The company is working closely with the Government of Balochistan to explore ways of using Zin’s low BTU gas for industrial zones and fertilizer production. This initiative is aimed at boosting regional development while making better use of untapped indigenous energy resources.

In another major step, OGDC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Uch Power Limited to jointly evaluate the technical and commercial feasibility of using Zin gas for power generation. This partnership is expected to promote innovative and sustainable energy solutions, especially in regions facing fuel shortages.

These efforts reflect OGDC’s broader strategy to maximize local hydrocarbon potential through investment and collaboration, while contributing to energy security and long-term economic growth in Pakistan.
