Shazia Marri accuses PTI of promoting extremist politics in KP
“PTI’s decision to not participate is tantamount to supporting the terrorists,” Marri stated.

Islamabad: Senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Shazia Atta Marri has strongly criticized Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), accusing the party of attempting to spread extremist politics in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). Her comments came on the heels of PTI’s refusal to attend the All-Parties Conference (APC) convened by KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi.
In her statement on Saturday, Shazia Marri expressed concern over the PTI’s absence from the crucial APC meeting, which aimed to discuss the ongoing law and order situation in KP, a province grappling with security challenges. Marri said, “Despite the invitation from Governor Kundi, PTI refused to participate in the APC. Many key proposals were put forward to restore peace and maintain law and order in the province, but the PTI’s refusal to engage shows a lack of commitment to resolving the issues at hand.”
She went on to assert that PTI’s refusal to attend the conference could be interpreted as tacit support for the ongoing terrorist activities in the region. “PTI’s decision to not participate is tantamount to supporting the terrorists,” Marri stated.
The PPP leader also emphasized the importance of addressing the multitude of challenges faced by the people of KP, stressing that restoring peace was paramount for the well-being of the citizens. “There is an urgent need to work towards addressing the issues affecting the people of KP, particularly the growing security concerns,” she added.

Shazia Marri also highlighted that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari had urged PTI from the floor of the parliament to focus on the welfare of the masses. “It was Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari who suggested to the PTI that they work for the betterment of the people, especially at this critical juncture,” she said.
The criticism comes as tensions between the PPP and PTI continue to escalate, with both parties clashing over their approaches to governance and national security.
