Justice Amjad Rafiq presided over the hearing, expressing dissatisfaction with the police report and directing the Advocate General Punjab and IG Punjab to appear in court. The court emphasized the urgency of recovering Ghulam Shabbir, detained en route to Islamabad despite court orders.
Justice Amjad Rafiq underscored the violation of fundamental rights in cases of enforced disappearances, demanding a policy statement from the Punjab government on the matter. The court indicated readiness to summon Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz if necessary, emphasizing the gravity of the situation.
