FBR extends sales tax, federal excise return deadline
August sales tax returns can now be filed until Sept 25
ISLAMABAD: (Finance Reporter) – The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has extended the deadline for filing sales tax and federal excise returns for August 2026, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday.
Under the extension, taxpayers can now file their August 2026 sales tax and federal excise returns until September 25, 2026.
The extension applies to all taxpayers, provided the sales tax payable has already been deposited within the prescribed time.
The FBR granted the extension under Section 74 of the Sales Tax Act and Section 43 of the Federal Excise Act.
The move provides additional time for taxpayers to complete and submit their returns while meeting the required tax payment conditions.
