Pakistan vs India – (Web Desk) – Pakistan warns India nuclear warheads SIPRI report has raised fresh alarm in Islamabad. Pakistan’s Foreign Office said on Thursday that India’s move to deploy nuclear warheads with active military forces is deeply concerning and goes beyond a regional threat.
Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi made these remarks at the weekly media briefing. He said Pakistan is not surprised by the findings of the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI).
The SIPRI Yearbook 2026 revealed that India has started deploying around 12 nuclear warheads with operational forces for the first time. These are linked to India’s growing fleet of nuclear-powered submarines.
Andrabi said Pakistan is watching several worrying developments. These include India’s canisterised missile systems, expansion of sea-based nuclear platforms, and the push for long-range intercontinental ballistic missiles.
“These developments carry implications beyond South Asia,” he warned. He said they could have serious consequences for international peace and security.
Pakistan made it clear that it does not want an arms race. However, Islamabad said it will take all necessary steps to protect strategic stability and deter any aggression.
The spokesperson also raised concerns about rising tensions in the Middle East. He called on all parties to choose dialogue over escalation.
On Kashmir, Andrabi rejected India’s statements about Azad Jammu and Kashmir and reaffirmed Pakistan’s firm position on the dispute.
He also warned India against blocking Pakistan’s water rights under the Indus Waters Treaty, calling any such move a serious violation of international law.
The Foreign Office added that it is actively working to secure the release of Pakistani crew members held by Somali pirates aboard a seized cargo ship.
