Turkish President Receives Guard of Honor, Meets Army Chief

President Erdoğan met with General Asim Munir, who also extended a warm welcome to the Turkish leader.

ISLAMABAD: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan arrived at the Prime Minister’s House, where he was warmly welcomed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

A military guard of honor was presented to President Erdoğan by the Pakistan Armed Forces, with the national anthems of both countries played in the background. Following the ceremony, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif introduced the esteemed guest to members of the federal cabinet.

Later, President Erdoğan met with Pakistan’s Army Chief, General Asim Munir, who also extended a warm welcome to the Turkish leader.

Earlier, late last night, President Erdoğan, accompanied by the First Lady and a delegation of investors and business leaders, arrived at Noor Khan Air Base. There, he was given a grand reception by President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. President Erdoğan was also honored with a 21-gun salute during his arrival.
