Trump Says Iran Ceasefire Is on Life Support as Deal Hopes Fade

Trump Iran ceasefire life support concerns deepen as Washington and Tehran remain far apart on peace terms

Trump – (Web Desk) – The fragile peace between the US and Iran is hanging by a thread. President Donald Trump has warned that the Trump Iran ceasefire life support situation is now at its most critical point, after he flatly rejected Iran’s latest response to a US peace proposal. Trump told reporters he found Tehran’s reply so unacceptable that he did not even finish reading it.

Iran’s response went far beyond what Washington expected. Tehran demanded compensation for war damage, full control over the Strait of Hormuz, an end to the US naval blockade, the lifting of sanctions, and the release of frozen Iranian assets. The US had simply asked for a halt to fighting first, with tougher issues to be discussed later.

The diplomatic deadlock is already hitting energy markets hard. Brent crude oil climbed to around $104 a barrel as the Strait of Hormuz — which once carried a fifth of the world’s oil — remains largely shut. Oil tankers are moving through the waterway only in small numbers, with tracking devices switched off to avoid attack.

Efforts to find a solution continue on multiple fronts. Turkey’s foreign minister is heading to Qatar for talks, while Trump is set to visit Beijing on Wednesday, where Iran will be a key topic in his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. Trump has been pushing China to press Iran toward a deal.

For now, a full peace remains out of reach. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said there is still “more work to be done” on Iran’s nuclear programme and its regional forces. The US-brokered ceasefire in Lebanon is also under strain, with fighting between Israel and Hezbollah continuing in the south.
