Donald Trump To Visit China THIS Week For Key Talks
President Trump China Visit To Focus On Iran And Trade Relations
BEIJING: (Web Desk) – Donald Trump is scheduled to visit China from May 13 to 15 following an official invitation from Chinese President Xi Jinping, Beijing confirmed on Monday.
The visit is expected to focus heavily on rising tensions in the Middle East, particularly the ongoing conflict involving Iran, as well as trade disputes between Washington and Beijing.
Relations between the United States and China have remained strained over several major issues, including tariffs, regional security concerns, and the status of Taiwan, which China considers part of its territory.
Trump’s trip had originally been planned for March or early April but was postponed due to developments related to the Iran conflict.
A spokesperson for China’s foreign ministry confirmed that the American president will make an official state visit during the three-day trip.
Trump Rejects Iran Terms Amid Rising Regional Tensions
According to US officials, Trump is expected to encourage Beijing to use its influence regarding Iran, particularly because China remains one of the largest buyers of Iranian oil through independent refineries that import discounted crude.
Anna Kelly described the upcoming visit as highly significant both diplomatically and economically. She said the trip would not only carry symbolic importance but would also focus on securing beneficial agreements for the United States.
The visit will include ceremonial events in Beijing, including a tour of the historic Temple of Heaven and an official state banquet hosted by Chinese leadership.
This will mark the first visit by a US president to China since 2017, underscoring the importance of renewed high-level engagement between the world’s two largest economies.
