Taylor Swift Paid $160,000 Permit Fee for New York Wedding Celebration
NEW YORK: (Showbiz Desk) – Taylor Swift paid more than $160,000 for a New York City permit covering her high-profile wedding celebration with NFL star Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden, according to Mayor Zohran Mamdani. The mayor said the payment included the permit costs and expenses associated with the city’s response to the event.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, Mamdani explained that Swift had already covered the required fees after being asked whether she would reimburse New York City for police overtime. He said the permit payment exceeded $160,000 and accounted for the official response surrounding the ceremony.
The two-day wedding celebration in Manhattan attracted hundreds of celebrity guests and required an extensive police presence, with nearby streets temporarily closed to manage crowds and security. While the total cost of the event has not been officially confirmed, Forbes estimated it surpassed $20 million. Ahead of their wedding, Swift and Kelce also reportedly donated $26 million to various charitable organizations.
