Tarar Rejects Al Jazeera Report, Says No Islamabad Roads Closed

Tarar further said that lies and baseless propaganda could never replace the truth.

ISLAMABAD: (Mudassar Iqbal) – Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar on Saturday said that no road in Islamabad had been closed, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In a post on X, Tarar explained that containers had been placed at certain locations to protect the lives and property of citizens and in compliance with directions issued by the Islamabad High Court.

He stressed that the purpose of placing containers was not to restrict public movement. “The purpose of placing containers is not to obstruct the movement of people,” he clarified.

Responding to an Al Jazeera report suggesting that the containers were intended to block roads, Tarar said the report did not accurately reflect the situation.

The minister maintained that the report overlooked the judicial and security circumstances behind the measures. He said partial reporting could not provide a complete picture of the situation.

Tarar further said that lies and baseless propaganda could never replace the truth.
