Faisalabad woman isolated over suspected mpox infection

Faisalabad: (Staff Reporter) – A woman from Faisalabad has been admitted to an isolation ward after developing symptoms consistent with a suspected mpox infection, according to health officials.

The patient, a resident of the 204 Chak area on Canal Road, was shifted to an isolation facility after experiencing a high fever and developing skin lesions on various parts of her body, prompting concerns of a possible mpox case.

Health authorities said the woman is undergoing further medical evaluation, while laboratory tests have been sent to confirm whether she has contracted the virus.

Officials added that Allied Hospital-I Faisalabad has recorded 17 confirmed mpox cases so far. Medical teams remain on high alert and continue monitoring the situation while implementing preventive measures to reduce the risk of further transmission.

The latest suspected case has reinforced ongoing surveillance efforts as health authorities continue to closely track potential infections across the city.
