Pakistan Welcomes South Korea Hockey Team for Four-Test International Series

ISLAMABAD: (Sports Reporter) – The South Korean national hockey team is set to begin a historic visit to Pakistan from July 27 to August 8, marking an important step towards the revival of international hockey activities in the country.

According to an official circular, Pakistan and South Korea will compete in a four-match international Test series at the Naseer Banda Hockey Stadium in Islamabad.

Officials said the visit is expected to provide fresh momentum to Pakistan’s efforts to restore international hockey and strengthen sports ties between the two countries.

Advisor to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah described the South Korean team’s tour as a significant development for the revival of Pakistan’s national sport. He said the visit would also help project Pakistan’s peaceful and secure image internationally.

Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) President and Federal Secretary Mohiuddin Wani said the series would contribute to sports diplomacy and further enhance bilateral relations between Pakistan and South Korea.

The government has assured the visiting team of comprehensive security arrangements, official protocol, and administrative support throughout the tour.

The schedule and technical officials for the 2026 Pakistan-South Korea hockey series have also been announced. The four-Test series will be played from July 30 to August 7 at the Naseer Banda Hockey Stadium.

The first Test will take place on July 30 at 5:15pm Pakistan time, followed by the second match on August 1, the third on August 4, and the fourth Test on August 7, all scheduled for 5:15pm.

The officials panel for the series includes International Umpire Manager Faiz Muhammad, while the umpiring duties will be handled by Haroon Rashid, Yasir Khurshid, Fahad Ali Khan, Asad Abbas, and Sajid Raza.

Muhammad Shafiq Bhatti has been appointed as the Technical Delegate, while technical officials and judges include Hamza Tufail, M. Waqas Ahmed, Adnan Shahzad, Mehboob Javed, and Mirza Javed.
