LAHORE: (Sports Desk) – Lahore Qalandars have released Pakistan batter Abdullah Shafique from their squad for the ongoing Global Super League (GSL), with Bangladesh’s Shamim Hossain named as his replacement.
Abdullah Shafique was initially included in the Lahore Qalandars lineup for the tournament but will now depart the squad to join Pakistan’s Test team in Trinidad and Tobago.
The right-handed batter played his final match for Lahore Qalandars against the Guyana Amazon Warriors, scoring 21 runs from 13 deliveries before leaving the competition.

Shafique was called up to Pakistan’s Test squad as a replacement for injured batter Abdullah Fazal, making his release from the GSL necessary as he prepares for international duties.
Lahore Qalandars have confirmed that Shamim Hossain will take Shafique’s place in the squad for the remainder of the tournament.
