Sidra Niazi Condemns Victim Blaming After Acid Attack

Actress Raises Voice After Shocking Attack on Doctor

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Pakistani actress Sidra Niazi has strongly criticized the culture of victim blaming following the shocking acid attack on Dr. Mahnoor, calling on society to shift its focus from questioning victims to holding offenders responsible for their actions.

Taking to Instagram, Sidra expressed her anguish over the brutal attack that left the young doctor critically injured while she was performing her duties at a hospital. While the incident sparked widespread concern and condemnation, the actress highlighted how many social media users turned their attention toward the victim’s personal life, appearance, and choices rather than condemning the violence itself.

In an emotional message shared on her Instagram Story, Sidra said the incident had once again raised serious questions about societal attitudes and the way young boys are being raised.

“Dr. Mahnoor has left us shaken once again. Every time a woman is attacked, harassed, or subjected to such horrific violence, I find myself questioning where we are failing as a society. How are we raising our children, especially our boys, that some grow up believing they have the right to punish, control, or destroy a woman’s life?” she wrote.

The actress also voiced concern over the public reaction that often follows such crimes, arguing that some responses can be nearly as disturbing as the violence itself.

She noted that instead of expressing outrage and sympathy for victims, many people rush to scrutinize a woman’s character, clothing, decisions, and actions, seemingly searching for reasons to justify or explain the abuse she suffered.

Describing this attitude as deeply troubling, Sidra said victim blaming reflects a dangerous lack of empathy and a willingness to excuse brutality by shifting responsibility onto women.

“The fact that someone can look at a victim of such a horrific act and ask, ‘What did she do?’ instead of ‘How could anyone do this to her?’ is deeply disturbing,” she stated.

Concluding her message, the actress stressed that no rejection, disagreement, or personal conflict can ever justify violence. She urged society to challenge the attitudes that enable abuse and to stand firmly with victims rather than subjecting them to further judgment.

Sidra emphasized that meaningful change will only come when people stop normalizing victim blaming and begin confronting the mindsets that allow such acts of violence to persist.
