SHO to Be Suspended Over Citizen Death In Robbery; Sindh Home Minister

KARACHI: Sindh’s Home Minister Zia-ul-Hasan Linjar has announced the suspension of a Senior Superintendent of Police (SHO) following the tragic death of a citizen during a robbery in Karachi.

Addressing the Sindh Assembly, Minister Linjar emphasized the need for accountability and efficiency in law enforcement.

Highlighting ongoing efforts to strengthen police forces, Linjar discussed the recruitment of 42,000 constables based on merit through third-party exams. He praised the collaborative efforts between Rangers and police in achieving security objectives, noting improvements in rural areas like Kacha.

“We are accountable to both the Assembly and the public,” Linjar asserted, urging compensation announcements for victims of such incidents from the Chief Minister. He underscored the importance of effective police station operations and respect for citizens, especially women seeking assistance.

Regarding recent security challenges, Linjar expressed condolences for police casualties and urged increased security measures, particularly at checkpoints in Kashmore. He emphasized strategic improvements in motorway operations and targeted police actions to enhance public safety.
