Iran claims $270 billion loss from US attacks

Iran demands compensation over $270 billion wartime damages

Tehran: (Web Desk) – Iran has claimed that recent attacks attributed to the United States and Israel have caused an estimated economic loss of around $270 billion.

According to Iranian government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani, the figure includes both direct destruction and broader indirect economic damage affecting infrastructure, trade, and multiple sectors of the economy. She stated that the assessment reflects the full scale of the impact on national development and stability.

Mohajerani further said that compensation for wartime losses has become a key demand for Tehran and was also raised during recent US–Iran discussions held in Islamabad. She added that the issue of reparations is part of a broader 10-point proposal presented by Iran in negotiations.

JD Vance says progress made in Iran talks

Separately, Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations submitted a formal letter to UN Secretary-General António Guterres, calling for compensation from several Gulf countries, including Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, and Kuwait, over alleged wartime damages.

Analysts say Iran’s growing focus on compensation demands could further heighten regional tensions and complicate ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation and negotiations.
