Former student opens fire at Turkey school, wounds 16, kills himself
A teenage former student opened fire at his old school in southeastern Turkey, leaving 16 people wounded before taking his own life as police closed in.
Turkey School Firing – (Web Desk) – A young man who used to attend a high school in Turkey went back to his former school on Tuesday and opened fire, injuring 16 people, including students. The attacker later took his own life. Officials confirmed the incident.
Security forces quickly arrived at the school in Sanliurfa province, in southeastern Turkey, and all students were safely evacuated from the building.
Video footage from the scene showed ambulances waiting outside the school as frightened students ran out of the building.

Authorities are now investigating the incident. School shootings are very uncommon in Turkey.
Sildak identified the attacker as a former student at the school, born in 2007.
“He took his own life when cornered by police,” the governor said.
“We have evacuated the school and will carry out a thorough investigation into this tragic incident,” he added.
Local media reported that most of the wounded were students.
