Intelligence-led raid targets TTP militants in Hassan Khel region
ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Pakistani security forces carried out a coordinated intelligence-led operation against militants associated with the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), also described by authorities as Fitna al Khwarij. The action took place in the rugged Hassan Khel region located between Peshawar and Kohat.
The joint mission involved the army, police, Frontier Corps, and Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), following credible intelligence about militant activity in the area. Officials reported that during the clash, multiple militants were injured while several were likely killed, and their hideouts were dismantled.
Senior officials, including Peshawar’s Capital City Police Officer Dr Mian Saeed Ahmed and SSP Operations Farhan Khan, oversaw the operation alongside military leadership. Advanced tactics were used, including drone surveillance, anti-drone systems, and sniper teams to counter threats effectively.

Specialized police units, including anti-terror squads and elite forces, also took part in the mission. Authorities additionally restored damaged infrastructure, including a gas pipeline previously targeted by militants.
Hassan Khel has seen a rise in militant activity in recent months, prompting repeated operations. The latest crackdown follows the recent abduction and killing of two police officers in the same locality. Earlier incidents include attacks on police checkpoints and sabotage of public infrastructure, highlighting ongoing security challenges in the region.
Security forces reaffirmed their resolve to eliminate militant threats and ensure the safety of civilians and state assets through continued operations.
