Islamabad: Federal Advisor Rana Sanaullah chaired a review meeting today on the progress of the Sports Policy and ongoing development projects, expressing a strong commitment to completing these initiatives on time in order to promote sports across the country.
Rana Sanaullah emphasized the government’s focus on activating sports complexes in all provinces to facilitate vigorous sports activities. “We are ensuring the full activation of sports complexes across all provinces to support a range of sports activities,” he said.
In a bid to raise the profile of sports at an international level, the federal advisor revealed plans to develop a world-class football ground in Karachi for hosting international leagues. “We are taking immediate steps to establish an international-standard football ground in Karachi to host global tournaments,” he announced.
Additionally, he highlighted the ongoing efforts to enhance sports facilities in Peshawar by providing necessary infrastructure for squash academies. “We are providing the required facilities to make squash academies in Peshawar fully operational,” said Rana Sanaullah.
A significant milestone in the development of sports science, the advisor shared that a state-of-the-art biomechanical lab has been established under the ongoing development projects. “This will be the first lab of its kind in the country, equipped with advanced facilities to help athletes maintain their fitness levels,” he added.
To further improve athletes’ performance, foreign coaches are being hired to enhance the skills of local sportspeople. “We are bringing in foreign coaches to further enhance the capabilities of our athletes,” Rana Sanaullah said.

The government is also set to complete the replacement of synthetic hockey turf in seven cities, including Wah Cantt, Quetta, Peshawar, and Muzaffarabad, as part of the broader development plans for sports infrastructure across Pakistan.
The ongoing efforts are expected to significantly boost Pakistan’s sports culture, offering athletes world-class facilities and support to help them perform at their best on both national and international stages.
