PM Praises Pakistan’s Rich History During China Visit

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday described the strategic partnership between Pakistan and China as “an anchor of regional stability and a beacon of hope for global peace and prosperity.”

Speaking at the unveiling of sculptures of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Chinese leader Mao Zedong at the PM House in Islamabad, the prime minister praised the longstanding collaboration between the two nations in areas such as the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), education, defense production, and cultural exchanges.

PM Shehbaz emphasized that the enduring relationship between Pakistan and China was founded on mutual respect, trust, and cooperation. He also stressed that both leaders recognized the significance of the all-weather strategic partnership, which has contributed to regional stability amid global challenges.

The prime minister paid tribute to Quaid-e-Azam’s leadership and the sacrifices of Muslims during the creation of Pakistan. He also appreciated the work of Chinese sculptor Yaun Xikum, who created the statues of the two leaders, noting that his craftsmanship captured the essence of both figures.

PM Shehbaz recalled his visit to China earlier this year, where he toured the Terra Cotta museum in Xi’an. He noted that Pakistan’s history, rooted in the Indus Valley Civilization, is equally rich and significant.

During his address, the prime minister highlighted the increasing educational exchanges between the two countries, with hundreds of Pakistani students now attending Chinese universities. He also mentioned the upcoming visit of the first batch of agricultural graduates from Pakistan, who will study in China to gain expertise in modern agricultural techniques.
