Putin Warns European Troops in Ukraine Mean War

MOSCOW: (News Desk)  – Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned that any deployment of European troops to Ukraine would amount to “a war against Russia,” while insisting that Moscow poses no threat to European countries.

Speaking on Friday, Putin said European leaders were considering sending troops to Ukrainian territory, describing such a move as a direct confrontation with Russia. He accused European governments of frightening their populations with what he called an imaginary Russian threat.

Putin reiterated that Russia has no intention of entering into conflict with European countries, saying Moscow has no reason to threaten them.

Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 and has repeatedly opposed any deployment of Western troops in Ukraine, describing it as a red line.

European leaders have discussed the possibility of deploying troops to Ukraine for several years, but no such deployment has taken place. Moscow has consistently cited NATO’s expansion toward its borders as one of the reasons behind its military action in Ukraine.
