Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman's opposition reply defends Punjab's budget and welfare record

Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman – (Web Desk) – Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman opposition reply shook the Punjab Assembly. He said the opposition leader debated the budget for five days without knowing the real numbers.

The minister said the government used 93 percent of its development budget this year. It also hit 99 percent of its revenue target. He called this a big achievement.

The government set aside Rs556 billion for 387 projects in south Punjab. Another Rs38 billion was allocated for the Katcha riverine areas.

For public welfare, Rs29 billion goes to the Health Card. Rs12.5 billion is for the Kisan Card. Rs5 billion is set for the Dhee Rani Programme.

The minister cleared the air on the Health Card. He said it is not closed. It has only been improved for better results.

He rejected all corruption allegations from the opposition. He said international reports show Pakistan moved four places up on the corruption index in two years.

On May 9, he said the government did not order the attacks on GHQ and Jinnah House. He placed full blame on the opposition.
