President Zardari & PM Shehbaz Sharif Vow to Address Legal Issues with Political Consensus

President assured PM of his full support in achieving national stability & development

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have expressed a unified commitment to working together for the stability and progress of Pakistan, particularly in addressing legal matters through consultations with political stakeholders. This pledge was made during a meeting held at the Presidency in Islamabad on Monday, where both leaders discussed the country’s political, economic, and security situation.

During the meeting, the President and Prime Minister agreed to tackle key legal issues in close coordination with all political parties and emphasized the importance of collaborative decision-making. They also reviewed the legislative agenda for the upcoming parliamentary sessions, aiming for a consensus-driven approach.

President Zardari assured Prime Minister Sharif of his full support in achieving national stability and development. Prime Minister Sharif, in turn, extended his best wishes for the President’s health and well-being.

The meeting was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Kareem Kundi, former Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, and PPP MNA Syed Naveed Qamar.

Sources revealed that the discussions also touched on several critical issues, including the madrassa registration bill, the security situation in Kurram, and the Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) concerns regarding the government. The leaders deliberated on the future course of action concerning the madrassa bill and the ongoing efforts to address security challenges in Kurram, as well as measures to assist and relocate victims from the region.

Both leaders’ commitment to working together underscores the need for political unity and collaborative governance as Pakistan faces multiple challenges in the coming months.
