President And Prime Minister Review National Issues In Meeting

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held an important meeting at the President’s Office on Monday to discuss national security, the political and regional situation, economic matters and other key issues facing the country.

The high-level meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah.

Participants reviewed the country’s economic outlook, preparations for the upcoming federal budget, recent developments following the Gilgit-Baltistan elections, the situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, law and order challenges and other matters of national significance.

During discussions on the next fiscal year’s budget, President Zardari stressed the importance of prioritizing public welfare, safeguarding provincial rights and maintaining economic stability. He emphasized that budgetary measures should strike a balance between economic growth objectives and initiatives aimed at providing relief to the public.

The president directed relevant authorities to ensure that development plans and welfare programs are effectively incorporated into the upcoming budget to support citizens while sustaining economic progress.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi briefed the meeting on his recent visit to Iran and shared details regarding regional diplomatic engagements and ongoing developments in the broader geopolitical landscape.

PM Shehbaz Orders Long-Term Reforms for Economic Expansion

The meeting was also attended by senior Pakistan Peoples Party leaders, including Senator Sherry Rehman, MNA Syed Naveed Qamar, Senator Saleem Mandviwala and Senator Rahat Cheema.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Faisal Rathore and former National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf also participated in the discussions.

The participants reaffirmed the need for close coordination among political and government leadership to address national challenges, strengthen economic stability and ensure effective governance in the country.
