Focal Person to the Prime Minister on Polio Eradication Ayesha Raza Farooq announced the campaign on Sunday, urging parents to cooperate with vaccination teams visiting homes to administer drops to children.
In a statement, she said seven polio cases had been reported across the country so far this year, with most cases detected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
Ayesha said the government had made polio eradication a top priority, describing it as a national responsibility. She stressed that children were the country’s asset and their health and well-being remained a priority.
She added that although polio was a crippling disease, it could be prevented through vaccination, urging parents to ensure their children received the protective drops during the campaign.
