Rana Sanaullah Responds to Aleema Khan’s Controversial Comments over Imran Jail Facilities

PM's Advisor Rana Sanaullah Discusses Political Stability and Talks on PTI's Leadership

Islamabad: Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, held a press conference addressing the ongoing political situation in Pakistan and responding to recent claims made by leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), especially concerning former party chairman Imran Khan’s jail conditions.

Rana Sanaullah clarified that Imran Khan is receiving all the facilities entitled to him under jail manuals, dismissing claims of mistreatment as politically motivated. He expressed concerns about the political rhetoric being spread by PTI members, noting that the party’s internal conflicts were becoming increasingly evident. “It seems that PTI is indulging in internal power struggles and conspiracies,” he remarked, suggesting that such behavior was undermining the party’s credibility.

The Minister also pointed to a video circulating on social media, in which Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, and PTI social media operator, Ahsen Khan, discussed the political impact of his imprisonment. In the video, Aleema Khan was heard commenting that discussing jail facilities could weaken the political narrative of the opposition, implying that the alleged victimization of Imran Khan in prison was part of a deliberate propaganda strategy.

Rana Sanaullah further highlighted the ongoing infighting within PTI, criticizing figures such as Bushra Bibi, Sheher Afzal Marwat, and Ali Amin Gandapur for their roles in the situation. He stressed that the party’s leaders were involved in backdoor politics, with some even plotting against each other, while at the same time attacking government institutions.

In response to PTI’s ongoing accusations of state oppression, the adviser firmly stated that all claims regarding Imran Khan’s imprisonment, including allegations of mistreatment, had been debunked. He added that the government had consistently rejected such falsehoods and underscored that political instability in the country was largely being fueled by PTI’s efforts.

Sanaullah also condemned PTI’s use of social media for spreading anti-government propaganda, noting that the party had grown influential largely due to its social media campaigns but had suffered a significant setback once the truth began to emerge. He emphasized that the government was committed to pursuing political stability and national progress, urging all political parties to prioritize constructive dialogue rather than engaging in divisive rhetoric.

Rana Sanaullah wrapped up the press conference by affirming that there was no external pressure for Imran Khan’s release, and reiterated that the government was open to dialogue with all political stakeholders to resolve the current crisis.

The statement comes amid rising tensions in Pakistan’s political landscape, with PTI continuing to challenge the ruling government’s decisions while struggling with internal divisions.
