PMD Rain Forecast July 2026: Heavy Rains, Floods Expected Across Pakistan

PMD Rain Forecast July 2026 Warns of Windstorms, Flash Floods and Landslides Nationwide

Pakistan – (Staff Reporter/Web Desk) – The PMD rain forecast July 2026 has predicted widespread rain, windstorms and thunderstorms across most parts of Pakistan starting from July 18 and continuing till July 25. The Pakistan Meteorological Department has warned citizens about possible flash floods, landslides and urban flooding in several sensitive regions during this period.

Officials said monsoon winds from the Arabian Sea are steadily moving into the upper and central areas of the country. These winds are expected to grow stronger over the weekend, bringing more rain to many cities.

A weather system, known as a western disturbance, will also reach the northern parts of Pakistan on Monday. This system is likely to increase rainfall in hilly and plain areas alike.

Cities such as Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Sialkot and Sargodha may see heavy rain and thunderstorms from the evening of July 19 to July 23. Some areas could receive very heavy rainfall, so residents are advised to stay alert.

Southern Punjab cities, including Multan, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan and Rahim Yar Khan, are expected to get rain between July 20 and 24. Farmers in these areas should plan their crop work carefully during this time.

Most parts of Sindh will remain hot and humid. However, cities like Sukkur, Larkana, Tharparkar and Jacobabad may experience isolated showers from July 20 to 24.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, heavy rain is likely in Swat, Chitral, Dir, Kohat, Nowshera and Peshawar. The same weather pattern may also affect Bannu, Mardan, Abbottabad and Waziristan during this week.

Kashmir is expected to receive strong rain and thunderstorms almost throughout the week, from July 18 to 25. Areas like Muzaffarabad, Neelum Valley, Poonch and Bagh should prepare for continuous rainfall with short breaks.

Gilgit-Baltistan will also see moderate to heavy rain in Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit and Astore. Tourists visiting these mountain areas should stay cautious, as sudden weather changes are possible.

Balochistan may experience rain and windstorms in Zhob, Loralai, Sibi and Khuzdar from July 19 to July 23. Isolated heavy rainfall could also affect nearby districts.

The Met Office has issued a clear warning about urban flooding in major cities, including Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar and Multan, between July 20 and 23. Low-lying areas may face waterlogging problems during heavy showers.

There is also a risk of landslides in the upper hilly regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Murree and Kashmir. People living near hillsides should stay careful during this rainy spell.

Flash floods may hit local streams and nullahs in Kashmir, Murree, northeastern Punjab and Balochistan. Authorities have asked people living near these water channels to remain alert.

The PMD has advised tourists to avoid unnecessary travel to hilly and flood-prone areas during this forecast period. Safety should remain a top priority for families planning trips.

Farmers have also been urged to adjust their farming schedules according to the changing weather. Proper care for livestock is equally important during heavy rain and storms.

Officials noted that the ongoing hot and humid weather across the country will likely ease once the rain begins. This may bring some relief to people struggling with high humidity levels.

Citizens are advised to stay updated with official PMD alerts and follow safety guidelines throughout this week.
