Shehbaz Sharif Chinese Nationals Security Remains Top Priority Amid New $440 Million Pakistan-China Pharma Deals
PAKISTAN – (Staff Reporter/Web Desk) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Friday that Shehbaz Sharif Chinese nationals security will always stay at the top of his government’s agenda. He gave this assurance while speaking at the Pakistan-China Pharmaceutical Business-to-Business conference held in Islamabad. The prime minister told Chinese investors that their people and their businesses will get full protection in Pakistan.
During his speech, PM Shehbaz praised a major achievement of the day. Nine agreements worth close to $440 million were signed between Pakistani and Chinese private companies working in the pharmaceutical field. He called this a big win for both countries and said it will help push forward the next stage of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, known as CPEC 2.0.
The prime minister reminded the audience that China has always supported Pakistan in tough times. He pointed out that China has already put more than $30 billion into Pakistan under the first phase of CPEC. According to him, these new pharma deals mark another important step in growing the economic ties between the two nations.
Speaking about what comes next, PM Shehbaz said he expects these agreements to turn into real, working projects soon. He believes this will bring more investment into medicine manufacturing, vaccine production, and research work. The prime minister added that Pakistan has a strong chance to become a regional hub for making and exporting life-saving medicines to nearby countries.
He also took a moment to thank the people who made this event possible. This list included Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal, Special Assistant to the PM Haroon Akhtar Khan, Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi, and Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong. He also thanked government departments and business leaders on both sides for their hard work.
Beyond trade and business, the prime minister touched on Pakistan’s role in keeping peace in the region. He said Pakistan played a key part in helping calm down a recent regional crisis. He credited friendly nations for their support during this time, giving special thanks to China.

PM Shehbaz also spoke highly of Chinese leadership, naming President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang for their continued support to Pakistan. Closer to home, he acknowledged the role played by Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, along with Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, in handling important diplomatic matters during recent months.
Before his speech ended, PM Shehbaz Sharif was present to witness the official signing of the $440 million pharmaceutical agreements between Pakistani and Chinese companies. The event is being seen as a strong signal of growing trust between the two allies, especially in a sector that touches everyday lives through medicine and healthcare.
With these fresh commitments, Pakistan hopes to strengthen its position as a trusted partner for Chinese investment, while also working to build a safer environment for all foreign nationals contributing to the country’s economic growth.
