Pakistan Participates In Talks To Advance Islamabad MoU

Islamabad: (Web Desk) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defence Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir have departed for Switzerland to participate in high-level talks focused on implementing the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the United States and Iran.

The discussions, taking place in Bürgenstock, represent the first formal engagement between Washington and Tehran since the agreement was signed earlier this month. Senior representatives from the US, Iran, Pakistan and Qatar are expected to discuss practical measures aimed at advancing the accord, including regional security arrangements and broader diplomatic cooperation.

Pakistan’s Foreign Office reiterated its commitment to supporting dialogue and peaceful conflict resolution, highlighting Islamabad’s role in facilitating negotiations that led to the agreement.

Prime Minister Shehbaz is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with key international leaders on the sidelines of the talks. Observers view Pakistan’s participation as recognition of its diplomatic efforts in promoting regional stability and encouraging constructive engagement between the parties involved.
