Panjgur Operation: Security Forces Kill Four Militants In Balochistan

Panjgur – (Staff Reporter/Web Desk) – The Panjgur operation has once again put Balochistan’s security situation in the spotlight, after troops killed four militants linked to a India-backed group on Monday. Officials said the fighting broke out in the Aphan-e-Koh and Prom areas of the district.

Security sources said the raid followed solid intelligence about militants hiding in the area. Troops moved in quickly, and a heavy exchange of gunfire followed before the militants were neutralized.

A large stockpile of weapons and ammunition was found at the site. Officials say this points to a bigger network working in the region, one that security forces are still trying to track down.

This clash comes just a day after another major incident on the N-25 highway near Kalat. Militants had set up a fake checkpoint there, planning to kidnap travelers, steal vehicles, and demand money from passersby.

Security forces reached the spot in time and fought back hard. Five militants were killed in that exchange, and twenty-three hostages were rescued safely.

The military’s media wing, ISPR, confirmed the details. Officers said a large amount of weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from the site. Six trucks, three buses, and two cars were also seized during the operation.

Balochistan has seen a steady rise in such attacks in recent years. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has faced a similar trend too, especially since the Afghan Taliban took control of Afghanistan back in 2021.

Just a day before the Panjgur clash, security forces were involved in another deadly fight, this time in Hangu, KP. Eight militants were killed there, but the operation came at a heavy cost.

Six Pakistan Army soldiers lost their lives in that battle. Among them were Captain Abuzar Farooq and Lieutenant Sheraz Babar, both of whom were leading their men from the front lines.

ISPR said the clash took place between an army convoy and a militant group known as Fitna al-Khawarij. Despite tough resistance, troops managed to kill eight attackers before the fighting ended.

These back-to-back operations show how active security forces have become in both provinces. They also show the growing danger faced by soldiers who patrol these high-risk areas every single day.

For families living in these border districts, such news brings mixed feelings. There is relief when threats are removed, but also deep worry about the risks troops continue to face.

Officials say more operations are expected in the coming days. With militant activity rising in both Balochistan and KP, security forces appear determined to keep pushing back against these threats.
