Fatah-2 ER Test Aims to Enhance Pakistan Army’s Operational Reach
ISLAMABAD: (Staff Reporter) – The Pakistan Army has successfully conducted a test launch of the Fatah-2 Extended Range (ER) missile, a weapon system featuring advanced navigation technology and modern avionics, according to an official announcement.
The missile is designed to engage targets with high precision. According to the announcement, its distinctive flight trajectory and manoeuvrability are intended to help it overcome enemy missile defence systems. The extended-range variant is also expected to expand the Army’s operational reach and ability to strike targets at greater distances.
The test was witnessed by the Commander of the Army Rocket Force Command (ARFC), senior Pakistan Army officers, and scientists and engineers involved in the missile programme.
During the event, the ARFC commander praised the dedication, technical expertise and efforts of the scientists and engineers who contributed to the development of the weapon system.
Following the successful test, Pakistan’s president and prime minister, the chief of army staff and chief of defence forces, and the services chiefs congratulated the scientists and engineers on the achievement.
The test marks a further development in Pakistan’s missile programme, with the Fatah-2 ER designed to enhance long-range precision-strike capabilities. The announcement did not specify the missile’s exact range or provide further technical details about the test.
