Pakistan- Pakistani Pilgrims Arrive in Karachi After Baghdad Delay. A flight carrying Pakistani pilgrims from Iraq landed in Karachi early on Saturday morning after experiencing a significant delay at Baghdad airport.

The Iraqi Airways flight IA-2431, which had departed from Baghdad, arrived in Karachi at 6:15 a.m. Pakistan time, bringing relief to the passengers who had been stranded for several hours.

A Foreign Office spokesperson reported that 654 Pakistani pilgrims were delayed at Baghdad airport due to technical problems affecting two Iraqi Airways flights. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Aviation, and the Pakistani Embassy in Iraq worked diligently to facilitate the pilgrims’ safe return.

“We have been in constant communication with Iraqi authorities and Iraq Airways to expedite the return of the pilgrims,” the spokesperson said.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan had issued instructions to ensure the welfare of the stranded pilgrims until their return. During their extended stay in Baghdad, the Pakistani embassy arranged food and temporary accommodation for them.

The spokesperson confirmed that all stranded pilgrims are expected to be back in Pakistan by the end of the day. This successful resolution highlights effective diplomatic and governmental efforts in addressing the situation.
