Pakistani Envoy Emphasizes Commitment to SDGs and Economic Growth at FfD Conference

United Nations: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Munir Akram, met with Li Junhua, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs, to discuss preparations for next year’s fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD-4), set to take place in Seville, Spain, from June 30 to July 3, 2025.

The meeting was part of the preparatory phase for the conference, which will focus on addressing emerging global challenges, including the full implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the urgent need for reform of the international financial architecture. The FfD-4 conference aims to explore innovative solutions for financing development and improving the global economic system, with particular emphasis on supporting developing countries.

Both officials highlighted the significance of the conference in addressing critical financial and development issues, especially in light of the ongoing global economic challenges. Ambassador Munir Akram stressed Pakistan’s commitment to ensuring that the outcomes of the conference contribute to achieving sustainable development goals and advancing equitable economic growth worldwide.
