Pakistan Youth Delegation Participates in UN ECOSOC Youth Forum

PMYP Delegation Engages in ECOSOC Youth Forum 2026

New York: The United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Youth Forum 2026 concluded at the United Nations Headquarters from April 14 to 16, bringing together young leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders from around the world to advance youth-driven solutions for sustainable development.

The forum focused on accelerating progress toward the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, with emphasis on inclusive growth, climate action, digital transformation, and greater youth participation in policymaking.

Pakistan was represented by a youth delegation under the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP), led by Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan. The delegation included representatives from the National Youth Council, diaspora members, and PMYP officials, along with support from Pakistan’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations.

Throughout the three-day event, Pakistani delegates actively participated in plenary sessions, thematic discussions, and side events, while also engaging in bilateral and multilateral meetings with international stakeholders. They interacted with global counterparts including youth leaders and officials from several countries, exchanging best practices and exploring opportunities for collaboration.

On the sidelines of the forum, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN Asim Iftikhar Ahmad hosted a welcome dinner in honor of the delegation, attended by senior officials including representatives from Pakistan’s mission to the UN and the Ministry of National Health Services.

The participation of Pakistan’s youth delegation highlighted the country’s commitment to empowering young people and strengthening their role in global development discussions, particularly within the framework of sustainable development and international cooperation.
