Pakistan Reiterates Peace Push at Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly Istanbul

Istanbul: (Web Desk) – Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to global peace and the peaceful resolution of disputes through dialogue, urging an end to conflicts and sustained diplomatic engagement.

He is leading Pakistan’s parliamentary delegation at the 152nd General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Istanbul, where representatives from over 130 member parliaments are participating under the theme of “Nurturing hope, securing peace and ensuring justice for future generations.”

During the event, Ayaz Sadiq held meetings with parliamentary leaders from Iran, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates, along with other delegations from the Gulf region. Discussions focused on reducing regional tensions, promoting dialogue, and strengthening cooperation among Muslim countries.

The Speaker emphasized the importance of restraint and dialogue, calling for an end to hostilities in the region and urging all sides to adopt a pragmatic approach to resolving disputes. He noted that continued tensions among Muslim countries were counterproductive and only benefited external forces, while undermining unity within the Muslim world.

In meetings with his counterparts, including leaders of Qatar’s Shura Council and Oman’s State Council, the Pakistani delegation was acknowledged for its diplomatic outreach. Some participants praised Pakistan’s efforts to promote dialogue and regional understanding, particularly amid heightened geopolitical tensions.
