Pakistan Offers Sports Expertise to Kazakhstan, Promotes Gender Inclusion

Islamabad — In a move to strengthen bilateral ties, Pakistan and Kazakhstan have agreed to expand cooperation in the areas of sports and tourism. The commitment came during a meeting between Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination, Rana Sanaullah Khan, and Kazakhstan’s Deputy Minister of Tourism and Sports, Mr. Yerzhan Yerkinbayev, along with the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), Mr. Kanat Alin, held in Islamabad.

During the meeting, Minister Rana Sanaullah highlighted the deep-rooted and fraternal relations between Pakistan and Kazakhstan, emphasizing the potential for practical collaboration to further cement this longstanding bond.

In a major development, Pakistan offered technical assistance to Kazakhstan in the sports of hockey, squash, and snooker, where Pakistan has historically enjoyed international recognition. Minister Sanaullah also underlined the importance of promoting women’s participation in sports, proposing joint initiatives to advance gender inclusion in athletic programs across both nations.

The two sides agreed to foster institutional partnerships between sports organizations of both countries. The proposed initiatives include exchange of coaches and sports experts, joint training workshops, and bilateral sports competitions aimed at fostering people-to-people connections and engaging youth in healthy and constructive pursuits.

Minister Rana Sanaullah reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to promoting sports diplomacy and youth development through regional and international cooperation. He noted that such engagements would not only strengthen diplomatic relations but also create platforms for nurturing emerging sports talent in both countries.

The meeting concluded with both delegations expressing optimism about future collaboration and agreeing to work on a roadmap for the implementation of joint projects in the coming months.
