Pakistan Hits Back At India Over Kashmir At Un Report Debate
Pakistan Response to India at UN Security Council Report Debate
UN Security Council Report – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – Pakistan delivered a firm response to India at the UN Security Council report debate, defending key facts recorded in the annual report about the long-standing Kashmir dispute. Pakistan’s Permanent Representative reminded the UN General Assembly that the report clearly documents over twenty communications on the India-Pakistan Question during the reporting period.
Pakistan also pointed to the closed consultations held by the Security Council on 5th May 2025. Those consultations were called to address rising regional tensions and India’s aggressive posture. Pakistan said India chose to deny these facts instead of engaging honestly with the report.
Pakistan’s envoy stated that Jammu and Kashmir remains a recognized dispute on the UN Security Council agenda. He said no political maneuvering can erase the historical and legal character of this issue. Pakistan firmly stated that Jammu and Kashmir was never, is not, and will never be an integral part of India.
The Pakistani representative highlighted that nearly eight decades have passed since the Security Council called for a UN-supervised plebiscite. The people of Kashmir are still waiting for their right to self-determination. Arbitrary detentions, restrictions on basic freedoms, demographic changes, and human rights abuses continue in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Pakistan accused India of ignoring its obligations under the UN Charter, particularly Article 25, which requires member states to follow Security Council decisions. Pakistan also raised serious concerns about India sponsoring terrorism, conducting state-backed assassination campaigns abroad, and illegally suspending the Indus Waters Treaty.
