PM Shehbaz Urges Iran to Punish Killers of Pakistanis

Islamabad – The Government of Pakistan has responded strongly to the tragic killing of eight Pakistani citizens in Iran’s Sistan-Baluchestan province. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed it is in continuous contact with Iranian authorities over the incident.

In a statement, the Foreign Office spokesperson said they are aware of the unfortunate incident on Iranian soil and are closely monitoring the situation. “We are in contact with Iranian officials, and once verified information and full details emerge, we will issue a formal comment,” the spokesperson added.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also expressed deep sorrow and condemnation over the brutal murder of the Pakistani nationals. He urged the Iranian government to swiftly apprehend the perpetrators and ensure they are given exemplary punishment. The Prime Minister also called for transparency, demanding that the reasons behind this heinous act be made public.

Additionally, PM Sharif directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to remain in close contact with the victims’ families and instructed the Pakistani Embassy in Iran to take all necessary measures for the safe repatriation of the bodies.
