Event honors the bravery and sacrifices of Pakistani soldiers from the 1965 war
RABAT-The Pakistan Embassy in Rabat held a ceremony to honor Defence Day, celebrating the bravery and sacrifices of Pakistani soldiers who defended the nation’s sovereignty and borders during the 1965 war. The event also reaffirmed Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to its defense.
The ceremony attracted community leaders and ambassadors from various countries, promoting a spirit of unity and collaboration. Among the attendees were Morocco’s Minister of Justice, Abdellatif Ouahbi, Ambassador/Chief of Protocol Anas Khaless, and other government officials, as reported in a press release.

Pakistan Ambassador to Morocco Mohammad Sami, in his address, urged the Arab and Muslim world to pay attention to the grave human rights abuses and atrocities committed by India in Indian Illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir as well as the ongoing violations in Gaza and Palestine.
He lauded the Pakistan Army’s remarkable legacy and its pivotal role in maintaining global peace through its participation in United Nations peacekeeping missions.
He also emphasized the global acknowledgment of the Pakistan Army’s courage and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. The Pakistan Army has consistently been one of the first to respond to natural disasters and national emergencies, showcasing its steadfast commitment to safeguarding the country and its citizens.
A key moment of the event was the cutting of a cake adorned with the vibrant flags of Pakistan and Morocco. This symbolic gesture underscored the lasting friendship and solidarity between the two nations.
